We used vacuum to clean the RICH prototype vessel before injecting pure Neon in 2007 and 2009 Use an aluminum “hat” to make vacuum on both side of quartz windows After neon is in and stable, remove the hat and plug the disk with PMs (all PMs and sockets and cables already in) If the procedure is to be repeated: shift the PM disk by few cm WITHOUT dismounting or uncabling anything, put the hat, do the vacuum, put the neon, remove the hat, plug again the PM disk
