2 Fredonian Rebellion Led by Edwards brothers in 1826
Claimed area in Nacogdoches was no longer under Mexican control Stephen F. Austin sided with Mexican government & helped end rebellion.

John Austin drafts resolutions Settlers pledged their loyalty to Mexico & the Constitution of 1824 Pledged loyalty to Santa Anna Bradburn is dismissed from his command & Patrick Jack & William Travis are freed

Austin travels to Mexico City to deliver requests of settlers Santa Anna has taken over government & Austin can not meet with him for some time In anger Austin writes a letter to settlers telling them to establish a new government Santa Anna finally meets with Austin & agrees to many of the grievances except separate statehood Austin returns to Texas & is arrested on his way home; he is jailed until the summer of 1835
