Examination Must Be Personal We’re responsible for our own sins –Ezekiel 18:20 Each will give an account to God –2 Corinthians 5:10; Romans 14:12 “Am I in the faith?” –Matthew 25:31-32

Examination Must Be By the Right Standard Can’t examine self by doctrines of men –Isaiah 55:8-9; Jeremiah 10:23 Foolish to trust in own feelings –Proverbs 14:12 Comparing ourselves with others is not wise –2 Corinthians 10:12 Must examine ourselves by God’s Word –John 12:48

Examination Must Be Thorough Faith must be proven –Psalms 139:23-24 Seek to grow stronger –Hebrews 6:1 Happiness comes by serving God –Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 Strive for perfection –James 1:4

Examination Must Be Honest Our sins will catch up with us –Numbers 32:20-23 –James 5:16 –1 John 1:8-10 –Proverbs 28:13 Be HONEST in our examination Put Christ first --- not our own self-will

Examination Must Be Continuous Many verses show that our examination must be continuous –1 Corinthians 9:27 –James 1:25 –1 John 1:7 –Revelation 2:10

Let Us Examine Ourselves 2 Corinthians 13:5-8 “And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him” Hebrews 5:9
