THE CONCEPT Sub-committee of the CCSSA – to represent interests of CCNs/nurses in SA ICUs Purpose – greater representation of CCNs in 6 regions of CCSSA Constitution (2007) Additional members to include the 2 elected & the 2 co-opted Nurse members of CCSSA Council, viz. the WFCCN & CTG reps. Legitimate structure Objective – address CCN matters Leadership Regional / Provincial / Branch representation

THE PROCESS Concept of a nursing sub-structure of the CCSSA proposed in 2006 Accepted & initiated at June 2007 CCSSA Council meeting Inaugural meeting of group held Aug. 2007 at CCSSA Congress Presentation to Congress Aug. 2007 Follow-up meeting held Dec. 2007 at CCSSA Refresher Course in. P. E. Proposal & nomination form submitted for postage to members in Dec. 2007 Strategic Planning Workshop organised for Feb. 2008, Cape Town Planning meetings April & June 2008, JHB.
