What is chess???? The game chess has been described as an art, a science and a sport. Almost anyone can learn how to play. Some top chess champions can earn millions of dollars-so it would be worth spending a lot of time on improving on how you play.

Aboriginals Aboriginals move in groups as well as chess pieces. The aboriginals also get a part e.g. hunters, cooks etc. Chess is the same e.g. king, queen etc. If the aboriginal think that there place is going to be bad then they would move. Chess would also do the same if the person thinks the king is going to be in danger.

King The King is an important piece on the board. If the king gets captured, the game is over. However, they are not the most powerfulness' piece. You should use your other pieces to protect the King from attack.

Queen The Queen is the most powerful piece in the army. It is a devastatingly effective attacking piece, sometimes even able to threaten several pieces at once as it can move any distance in any direction. You should therefore use it wisely and avoid losing it at its costs.

The Rook Each player has two rooks. They are extremely powerful – the only piece that is stronger then it is the Queen. Rooks are especially deadly when they work as a team, and they can devastate your opponent's defence to bring checkmate if you use the rooks well.

The Bishops The two Bishops are a powerful attacking force, especially when they work together to dominate the board. You should develop your Bishops quickly, but also try to keep both of them as long as you can.

The Knights Each player has two knights. The knights are good at squeezing into spaces on the board, where you can use their jumping power to launch surprise ambushes.

Pawns Each player has eight pawns. On their own, they are not very valuable but they can work as a team to attack and defend. If one of your pawns reaches your opponent’s end of the board it can be replaced by a more valuable piece, usually the Queen.

Piece Value King Queen Rook Bishop Knight Pawn If the king is captured game over Nine ( 9 ) Five ( 5 ) Three ( 3 ) One ( 1 )
