Seniors, Youth & Privacy March 9, 20069 Protecting teens online (Pew Internet: Oct-Nov 2004) 73% of online families keep the computer in a public location in the home. 64% have rules about internet use. 62% of parents say they check up after their teens’ online activities (just 33% of teens say their parents check). 54% of online families use a filter.

Seniors, Youth & Privacy March 9, 200610 Teens & parents agree on some things (Pew Internet: Oct-Nov 2004) Eight out of ten parents and teens agree that kids are not as careful as they should be about the information they give out online. Six out of ten parents and teens agree that kids do things online that they wouldn’t want their parents to know about. Overall, most parents believe that the internet is a good thing for their children.
