How Does One Get It Wrong? TTTToo much confidence in men BBBBibles need to be used (Acts 17:11) KKKKnow only a preacher’s view (1 Corinthians 3:5; 4:6)

Word of God is not reverenced Skeptics are not the only ones Bible is inspired (2 Timothy 3:16, 17; Hebrews 4:12) Leads to salvation (Romans 1:16)

How Does One Get It Wrong? HHHHow well do we now it? FFFFaith comes by hearing (Romans 10:17; Ephesians 3:4) HHHHeed what it says (1 Timothy 4:13) RRRReading and studying precedes understanding and obedience (Psalm 119:9, 130)

What if we fail to know God’s will? Remain as babes (Ephesians 4:12-16) May believe a lie (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12)

Then It Is Passed Along Role of the teacher Imparts knowledge (James 3:1) Done “in word and deed” (Colossians 3:17) Role of the student Listen, question, accept, and obey it Defend the truth (1 Peter 3:15)

Then It Is Passed Along Pay attention to context May include a few verses, or chapters “Text without a context is a pretext” (2 Peter 2:15; 2 Peter 3:16) Never remove the key of knowledge Has been done (Malachi 2:7; Luke 11:52) Not simply proselytize (Matthew 23:15)

Challenges Before Us Handle God’s word accurately Requires diligence (2 Timothy 2:15) Others are watching Teach it to others and live it Accountable (2 Corinthians 5:10) Be an example (1 Timothy 4:16)
