Possible Uses of CogAT Guide efforts to adapt instruction to the needs and abilities of students. Data could be used within the Instructional Decision Making (IDM) process. To provide an alternative measure of cognitive development. To identify students whose predicted levels of achievement differ markedly from their observed levels of achievement.
