20 4. C&S Current+Future Work Items (1 of 2) Support Publication, RID Review and Approval of CRC Pink Sheets (4 +1 books) Update of the TM Channel Coding Green Book for –CRC clarifications (ESA) [TC Green Book too?] –Convolutional Codes clarifications (JPL) CCSDS 211.2 Proximity-1 Space Link Protocol-coding And Synchronization Sublayer was published in April 2003  Five Years Review due. Eventually, verify correctness of related Green Book CCSDS 210.0-G-1 Proximity-1 Space Link Protocol-rationale, Architecture, and Scenarios B.SUMMARY TECHNICAL STATUS

21 High Data Rate Randomizer: Study will be started by ESA/ESOC –Impact on TM Channel Coding Green Book –Possible adoption of additional randomizer (i.e. impact on Blue Book[s]) High Rate Uplink Coding: task is likely to come from finalized report of HRU WG (TBC). 23 B.SUMMARY TECHNICAL STATUS 6.SLS-LEC: Long Erasure Codes (‘tornado codes’) BOF (2 of 2) Working Group Summary progress:  Work finalized in this meeting.  Difficulties in having right perception by other Areas felt. This is an important issue since the implied coding solutions would penetrate also into higher layers data structures (e.g. post –pass recovery of “erased” frames or packets).  Cross-Area presentation has been held. Design ideas of LEC solutions have been presented addressing both:  Approach at Frame level (i.e. constant length input data)  Approach at (Space/CFDP) Packet level (i.e. variable length input data).  Next steps depends on CESG/Agencies decisions.  SLS PROPOSAL TO CREATE A LEC WG. LEC BOF TO PRODUCE A CHARTER SLS AREA REPORT
