Lucky A USS Alabama (BB-60), a South Dakota-class battleship, was the sixth completed ship named Alabama of the United States Navy, however she was only the third commissioned ship with that name. Alabama was commissioned in 1942 and served in World War II in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. She was decommissioned in 1947 and assigned to the reserve duty. She retired in 1962. In 1964, Alabama was taken to Mobile Bay and opened as a museum ship the following year.South Dakota-class battleshipUnited States Navy

Names of Guns Some of the guns on the U.S.S Alabama was the 18.1”/45cal, 16”/50cal, 15”/47cal, 15”/45cal, 4”/45 cal, 15”/50 cal, and 16”/45 cal.

The control room is where they control the battle ship. It was on the second floor. They would check the radar it would contact other ships far away, and they would be ready to battle. That was also were they would control the crane to pick up there plane out of the water. They would also use it to tell them to fire the guns also move the guns to turn the sirens on.

The Uss Alabama`s bakery The kitchen was a part of the USS Alabama ship. They would serve 30 pounds of bread & butter. They would eat the bread as fast as a dog on a pork chop.they would freeze the bread so they wouldn`t be wasteful.

The Bedrooms The bedrooms have 3 beds on each chain hanging from the roof. The beds aren’t very comfortable. The beds don’t have sheets or covers. The men that slept in them wore special clothes to keep them warm. They even had lockers no closets.
