2. CERAMICS The Bordeaux area is well known for its great wines, but with this clayey earth local people also make pottery.

3. Learning about ceramics has allowed us to : Go back in history Discover modern ceramic art Learn about crafts Explain what we have learnt by writing in a journalistic style Develop our knowledge by observing fine ceramics from different countries.

4. Going back in time The town of Saint- Emilion has an underground pottery museum. We went back in time with a guided tour of the museum and learnt about the uses of ceramic objects in past times.

5. Objects in the museum : water jugs, oil jars, jars for storing meat in oil, vinegar bottles, alcohol flasks...

7. A Craftsman in the village of Sadirac The village of Sadirac was once a village of potters. The local earth was used to make ceramic objects Meeting and watching a potter was a moving experience. We watched him making different objects.
