Motivation for Guidance: Act of Parliament comes into force on 1.10.15 prepared in context of Caldicott 2 review “share for care” and other recent events To support consistent interpretation and seek to maintain momentum for change Purpose of Guide: Explanation of the 2 main parts of the Act: A requirement for health and adult social care organisations to use a consistent identifier (the NHS Number) for sharing data for direct care of a patient.
