7  In 1792 B.C.E., King Hammurabi of Babylon wins control of Mesopotamia and consolidates power.  The city-state of Babylon becomes the new capital of Mesopotamia.

8  Hammurabi creates a law code to keep order and bring fairness to his kingdom  His code included 100’s of laws the dealt with business, taxes, robbery, murder, violence, marriage, farming and so on.  Based on Lex Talionis (an eye for an eye)  Posted in market square.
