Things to establish before you go to school What are you doing? With whom? When? For how long? You are NOT there to teach their children alone - classroom/behaviour management still the responsibility of the teacher Can you take pictures?

Things to check in advance Is powerpoint available? What will school provide? Classroom / hall unlikely to have black-out facilities; use really clear images How many pupils will you be working with or talking to? SEN? Tell school what you need them to provide? – best to take your own. Ask but don’t rely!! Plugs / water / sinks ??? Would a pre-visit help you? Can this be arranged? Share your ppt with link teacher

Child Protection Code of Conduct Consider your language Watch out for suggestive comments Be aware of personal space Avoid physical contact Don’t single people out Watch out for causing embarrassment Try not to be left on your own with pupils

Just getting there Allow plenty of time – Norwich ring road! The school run Parking at school ! The front door(s)! Getting stuff to/from the car – helpers? Signing-in / out / wearing a visitors badge

NEVER BE LATE!
