Founded in 1864 Fides, Spes, Caritas
Founded by St Joseph of Cluny order. Now operate under the Le Cheile trust. Over 630 students and 60 teaching staff. Also have full time librarian, sports coaches, choir leaders and other ancillary staff. Aim to provide a rounded education for your daughters – Mind, Body and Spirit

MIND, Body, Spirit Do expect every girl to aim high and reach her potential. All students will take Irish, English, Maths, Science, Geography, History, CSPE, Religion, SPHE, Choir, and PE (1st – 3rd year) Will also sample French, Home Economics, Art, Business, Music and either Italian or German. Also have various co-curricular activities such as debating, drama, science club etc.

2016 Results Academic results are significantly above the national average Leaving Cert (2016): 25% over 500 points We do have learning support for students who qualify (note: different to primary school system of Learning Support, so contact us if she has been receiving this ).

Mind, BODY, Spirit Two classes of PE every week.
Wide range of teams and sports played during lunchtimes and after school. Sports Captains appointed to promote involvement. Athletics, Basketball, Hockey, Badminton, GAA etc. Also have whole school events such as Health Living Week, Walk from Darkness into Light, Muck Run to encourage participation.

Mind, Body, SPIRIT Core part of our ethos is to promote Gospel values of respect, reflection, service to others and prayer. School Chaplain to promote this throughout the school. Religion classes throughout her time in school. School masses, prayer assemblies, retreats - we look to create moments of quiet reflection in their busy lives. Really important part of the development of resilience and emotional strength.

Practical Information
Booklet and uniform list. Please return language form by Friday at the latest. School calendar and book list sent out in June – also posted on school website. Ms. Tina Lewis – Co-ordinator of Transition from Primary. Year Head and class tutor will be assigned in August. Orientation day in late August. Parents information evening in September.

Typical timetable Roll call (aka Reg) 8:50am – aim to be here by 8:30 to get to lockers etc. All classes 40 minutes. Nine classes most days (exception on Wednesday). Finish at 4pm. Lunch 1:10pm -2pm. Small break at 10:20 – 10:30am

Student Support Student support – Prefects, Ember Team & Anti-Bullying Ambassadors Dean (Head of Year), Class Tutor, Guidance Counsellor, Chaplain, and Student Supervisors Important to get her involved in school life. Most will be looking forward to this next step – important to let her know that you have confidence in her!
