Safe Colleges 1.Safe college: an institution that will almost certainly accept you Want at least one safe college Ensures acceptance: at least one college 2.Many students choose a community or technical college as their safe choice Accepts many high school graduates

Community and Technical Colleges 1.Can be a smart choice – Many associate degrees lead to a good high-skilled career – It costs a lot less – Best learning environment for some students – Some students live at home Minimizes expenses Easier transition to college for some students 2.Some students – Best Safe School: 4-year college/university that allows lower ACT scores and GPA

Community and Technical Colleges 1.2-year colleges often offer very good majors for certain high-skilled careers where students can go directly into the workforce – Nurse – Carpenter – Software Developer – Automotive Technology Specialist 2.Some students transfer to a four-college after receiving an Associate’s degree – Often have less debt after graduation

Military 1.Explore the many types of military training and postsecondary institutions offered Can be a good option for some students Military likes soldiers to pursue postsecondary degrees Can help pay for a postsecondary education 2.The next three lessons address safe, match and stretch colleges Military is getting increasingly difficult to get accepted and difficult to put in 1 of the 3 categories
