1.Never play with the paper cutter. Always make sure the paper cutter is in the lock position and the blade is down when not in use. 2. Never stick fingers or objects into electric sockets. 3. Never leave objects in the aisle to be tripped over. 4. Never play with the staple gun or hole puncher. 5.Never lean back in, play or roll around in classroom chairs, because the wheels might come off or the chair might flip over.

6. Everything has a place provided for it and should be kept in its place. 7. Wrestling, throwing objects, and general horse- play are not permitted. 8. Never leave slippery substances on the floor, because this may cause people to fall. Don’t wait for another person to clean up the mess…clean it up. 9. To be safe in any lab situation, you must develop an ATTITUDE of safety.

10. Immediately report all accidents to teacher or supervisor. 11. Never play with scissors, use them for cutting paper and classroom material only. 12. Before servicing any piece of electrical equipment, you should always unplug the appliance first. 13. Never throw pens, pencils, paper clips, or any sharp object which can cause serious eye injuries.

14. Never sit on top of classroom tables, because they may fall. 15. Never eat or drink near the computers or electronic devices. 16. You should not keyboard for longer than 60 minutes at a time to help prevent carpal tunnel syndrome. 17. Never leave the classroom without the teacher’s permission.

18. Never spray hairspray or perfumes in the class. 19. NO matches or lighters allowed in the classroom. 20. NEVER pull on an electrical cord…always pull from the plug itself.

The Three E’s of Safety are: engineering, education, and enforcement. a.Proper engineering of buildings, highways, machines, and appliances eliminates many accident hazards. b.Through education, people can be made aware of the accident problem and the ways to prevent them. c.Enforcement of safety rules prevents many accidents.

Emergency Drill Signals a.Fire –Single short bell rings. 1.Leave the building through the front office, if leaving the classroom. 2.Move to a safe distance from the building with classroom and meet in front of the large oak tree. 3.Stay with your class members only. 4.Wait for the signal to return to the building.

b. Tornado – Two longer bell rings 1.Students should move to the hallway in front of the Business Fundamentals and Marketing classroom 2.Move flat against the walls in the hallway. 3. Wait for the signal to return to the classroom.

c. Weapon/Intruder in the Building Procedures. 1.Lock the door to the classroom. 2.Move away from the doors and windows. 3.Keep quiet as possible.

Also known as electrical equipment fires The following types of materials which would burn in a Class C fire are: Computers Energized or energy active electrical equipment Electrical sources Fuse boxes Wiring Class C fires are contained using Carbon Dioxide (CO2) fire extinguishers and Dry Chemical fire extinguishers.
