Dressing for an interview is very important. How you dress has a big influence on your first impression. Here are some do’s and don’ts for dressing for an interview.
3
Stay on the conservative side: Stay away from trendy clothes and stick with the basics. Pick the colors of you clothes off of which colors flatter you the most.
4
Dress to your job level: If you are interviewing for high end position you do not want to dress casual. Do iron your clothes.
5
Match your clothes Do empty pockets. Bulging keys and change is not appropriate.
6
If wearing open toe shoes, do pay attention to your toes. Unkempt toes show you don’t want to spend an extra couple minutes to tidy up. Do style your hair appropriately.
7
Do have fresh breath Do shower or bathe the morning of your interview
8
Don’t let your clothes be distracting. Bright colors and too much jewelry can become a huge distraction. We want the interviewer to focus on you, not your clothing. Don’t wear clothes that don’t fit you properly. Baggy and tight clothes are not appealing.
9
Do not wear facial jewelry. Do not wear open toe shoes
10
Do not wear anything too short or revealing Do not wear too much make up
11
Do not have extremely long nails. Do not wear hats or sunglasses.
12
Do not wear ripped or pulled clothing. Don’t wear strong perfume.
