3  Turn to the second section.  On the VERY FIRST PAGE of that section, write the following:  Table of Contents: Literary Terms  On the BACK OF THAT PAGE, write the following:  Table of Contents: Continued

4  Now turn to the third section  On the VERY FIRST PAGE of that section, write the following:  Table of Contents: Poetry  On the BACK OF THAT PAGE, write the following:  Table of Contents: Continued

5  Finally, turn to the fourth or last section  On the VERY FIRST PAGE of that section, write the following:  Table of Contents: Conventions  On the BACK OF THAT PAGE, write the following:  Table of Contents: Continued  Don’t use the 5 th section (if you have one)

6  Beginning with the table of contents for each section, number each page.  Number and use ALL pages, front and back.  Pages that have the spiral to the LEFT get ODD numbers; pages that have the spiral to the RIGHT get even numbers.

7  As you add information to your study guide, you’ll want to be able to find it again.  Title each section’s entry on the left side of its table of contents.  Write the page number on the same line, but move the number to the right margin.  Repeat this process each time you add new information.
