Human Rights Universal Develop and change over time Are influenced by changing views in society Try to ensure that everyone is treated with dignity and respect Cover all aspects of our lives

Rights Ensure we survive, develop and protect us from harm Mean others must involve us in decision making and include us in matters which affect us Are different from needs and wants

Responsibilities With the idea of rights for everyone in society comes the notion of responsibilities So, if we have a right to be treated with respect we have a responsibility to treat others with respect

What do we mean by ‘rights’? There are different types of rights Moral Rights Legal Rights Political Rights Economic Rights Cultural Rights
