9. Revision is …  A chore for most writers.  What students avoid at all costs.

10. What do you MEAN “rewrite it”?

11. “I don’t do that sort of thing when I write.” “I don’t need to revise.” “If I change anything, it will mess everything up.”

12. Revision is more than …

13. just changing a few words.

14. But it isn’t necessarily making changes on every piece of writing nor writing dozens of drafts.

15. Revision IS, however, the only way to make sure that the reader will know exactly what we see, what we feel, what we see, what we believe.

16. “My basic rule as a writer is don’t be too easily fooled. Every draft I write, I think, ‘This is wonderful. It’s done; I don’t need to change a word.’…”

21. “We ask our students to generate new aspects of their topics once they bring a rough draft to class.” Write two new introductions / conclusions. Switch the point of view (from third to first).
