2. Spanish I Course Objective This is the first level course in the Spanish curriculum. Emphasis is placed on teaching students the basic oral communication, beginning grammar points, and the introduction of the Hispanic people and culture of the world.

3. Spanish II Course Objective Students will continue with grammatical structures in Spanish, increase Spanish vocabulary, study the varying cultures and traditions of the Spanish-speaking world, and continue to communicate and share knowledge in the target language.

4. Weighted Grades Grades are calculated using a weighted system. Homework 15% Tests 30% Quizzes 25% Other 30% (anything that doesn’t fit in the first three categories)

5. Required Materials Every Day students must bring: Textbook Notebook Pen or Pencil

6. What do we do in class? Speaking activities (pair & individual) Writing activities Reading activities Listening activities Vocabulary lists Online learning activities

7. What should your child be doing at home? Reviewing vocabulary daily Looking over any notes from class Completing homework Practicing the language when able
