The Allied Forces primarily consisted of Britain, Russia, and France. The Alliance was to help and defend each other when need be. Their rivals were Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy. The alliance, commonly known as the Triple Entente, developed from the Franco-Russian Alliance (1894) formed to counter balance the threat posed by the Triple Alliance of Germany, Austria- Hungary, and Italy. At first, Britain, in 1904, became allied with France in the Entente Cordiale, and later on, the Anglo-Russian convention of 1907 completed the Triple Entente.

Britain had prevented all their overseas supplies and in a desperate last attempt Germany fuelled all their resources in one final battle which led to the Allied Power’s victory.
