Work Search Issues: Currently Alaska does not require active work searches for regular UI benefit eligibility. 6

7 Issue 1: Job Service Registration Errors Root cause(s) identified: Reduce claimants currently allowed to defer JS registration. Identify claimants incorrectly deferred from registration due to an incorrect return to work date. Reduce interstate and union registration errors. Lack of claimant notification to update registration when change in status detected. Planned action(s) to address issue State regulation change Automated identification of claimants incorrectly registered. Principle milestones To reduce improper payments by reducing the amount of incorrectly registered claimants.
