Treatments: various prescriptions, different types of therapy, clinical psychologist(they help with psychological disorders), Psychiatrist(help with mental disorders), etc. What is it? Excessive thoughts (obsessions) that lead to repetitive behaviors (compulsions).

5 Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder ❖ Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is a mental health condition triggered by a terrifying event; either experiencing it or witnessing it. ❖ Accurs most in adults who have experienced horrible, or shocking events. PTSD symptoms are generally grouped into four types: ●Intrusive Memories- Upsetting dreams about the traumatic event, recurrent, unwanted distressing memories, etc. ●Avoidance- Trying to avoid thinking or talking about the traumatic event, avoid places, activities or people that remind you of the traumatic event. ●Negative Changes in Thinking & Mood- Negative feelings about yourself or other people, feeling emotionally numb, etc. ●Changes in Emotional Reactions- Trouble sleeping, trouble concentrating, overwhelming guilt or shame, etc. The Primary treatment for PTSD is psychotherapy, but often includes medication like antidepressants, anti- anxiety medications, & prazosin.
