Apologetics= lit. “a defense of” (Acts 26:2) Apologetics is knowing what I believe, why I believe it, and then being able to give voice to it What I believe affects how I live- Orthodoxy (thinking that lines up with the truth) affects orthopraxy (living that reflects the truth)
4
Greatest virtue in today’s culture- tolerance “Are all religions just different paths to the same God?”

"My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come...” Simon Peter asked him, "Lord, where are you going?" Jesus replied, "Where I am going, you cannot follow now, but you will follow later." Peter asked, "Lord, why can't I follow you now?”- John 13:33, 36- 37.

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

“Prepare”- suffering and death on a cross …for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame- Hebrews 12:2 “You know the way to the place where I am going." Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" - John 14:4-5

If all religions lead to God, then Christ died for nothing I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!"- Galatians 2:21

Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will...my Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done" - Matthew 26:39, 42.

"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Watch out for false prophets....Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven”- Matthew 7:13-15, 21

If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him." Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us." Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father’?- John 14:7-9
