A cross-campus initiative to offer a course on Global Perspectives, based on key global issues: the Seven Revolutions model Population Resources Technology Information Economic Integration Security Governance Faculty involvement: One 70-min. lecture or workshop in an area of expertise as it relates to a global issue Teaching credit: voluntary overload; formalized official acknowledgement to be included in teaching dossier Current Status: the course has been proposed and approved as an omnibus housed at MDL A COLLABORATIVE COURSE

Introductory course: Introduction to Intercultural Competence and Communication Two core courses: existing GS, Honors and other courses dealing with diversity, multiculturalism, global issues Practicum: Study Abroad or local diversity immersion options Seminar in Intercultural Competence: project-based; demonstrating that students have progressed from theory to application by addressing real issues in a specific community PROJECT: A CERTIFICATE IN INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION
