Activity 1 – Reflecting on goals On a piece of paper write about the learning goals that you created in semester one. Honestly discuss how you went about attempting to achieve these goals. What did you do well? What were the difficulties (blockers) you had? What did you do to try and achieve these goals? Write honestly and openly for you self.

Learning goals Brainstorm ideas on what qualities or activities make a good learner and a poor learner. Divide the whiteboard in two and document these on the board. Examples Good LearnerPoor learner Listens attentively in class Reflects on what they learned during the day Attempts to write a response to a question even if not sure of answer Talks to the person next to them missing instructions Doesn’t finish homework Copies answers from another student

(Below are some suggestions) – Ask the teacher for clarification about task expectations. – Ask my partner to read my essay and make 3 positive and 3 negative comments to help improve my writing style. – Explain to my friend how to solve a mathematical problem.

Homework In preparation for next session you are to answer section 2.4 in planner - What will you need to ensure you can meet your goals?
