Several different types of music were invented in the South. Jazz Bluegrass Country and Western This music are part of the southern tradition.

The South is known for it’s food. Home Cookin’ Fried chicken Biscuits and gravy Greens Cajun Crawdads, shrimp, seafood Jambalaya and Gumbo A little spice and very nice! Rich sauces and gravies Barbeque Varies from one area to the next Deserts Pies Cakes

The South is known for their Hospitality. So what does that mean? Polite (Not just please and thank you) ▪ Yes Ma’am ▪ Open doors Friendly ▪ Wave to you ▪ Chit Chat Helpful ▪ Not to busy to help ▪ Help a neighbor in need

The south has festivals that many people travel to see. Mardi Gras Jazz Fest The south also has a variety of festivals and other events. Harvest festivals Church socials and Picnics Fairs Historical reenactments
