When we ask what time it is in Spanish, we say “¿Qué hora es?”

12 1 2 3 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 4 Es la una. ¿Qué hora es? The third-person singular of ser is used with 12:31-1:30 since we use the 1 o’clock hour (hora). The singular definite article is used for the same reason. All hours of the day are feminine in Spanish.

¿A qué hora…? At what time…? For times 12:31-1:30: (El evento) + es + a + la + (time). All other times: (El evento) + es + a + las + (time).
