Projectile motion refers to objects that are flying through the air Ex: thrown football, golf ball hit from tee These objects follow a curved path

Horizontal Constant Speed (No force applied in the x- direction) Vertical Constant force in the y-direction: GRAVITY Causes objects to decrease speed as they rise and increase speed as they fall (remember the marble free fall lab) Example: a fired bullet will land at the same time as a dropped bullet if both begin with the same horizontal speed (zero)

Changing the angle at which projectiles are released can cause them to travel further and stay in the air longer if the force remains the same

Notice: v x remains the same and v y increases. What causes this to happen?
