2 Objective: Part of ‘Graduation Oriented Advising” –Reach out to UCOL students in 4 th semester of attendance to check on progress toward declaring a major: Schedule appointments with those still unsure Schedule appointments with those on probation Provide major declaration procedures to those who are ready Reduce students’ risk of being restricted from courses needed for the major because they have not declared

3 Pre – work: Email Campaign at beginning of semester Identified students: 24 + EHRs 2.0 – 2.499 GPA 2.5+ GPA

7 Outreach Strategy: Action Plans Evaluate readiness to declare Renew major exploration/decision- making activities (“homework’) Follow through with declaration

8 Outreach Strategy: Follow-Up Steps Review list for students who have declared by end of semester Make appointments with students still exploring Make appointments with students working toward competitive majors

9 Lessons Learned: Focus more on students seeking competitive majors Continue focus on students in decision- making process
