Value, Character, and Decisions Values- are beliefs that you consider to be of great importance Character- is the way that people think, feel, and act.

4 Influences on your Decisions Your family is a major influence  Influence-is a force that affects your choices when you have a decision to make Your peers are an important influence Other Influences on your decisions Evaluate your influences

5 Examining Your Decisions Weighing the Consequences of Decisions  Consequences- is the result of an action that you take  Precaution- is an action to avoid negative consequences. Practice makes perfect

6 Refusal Skills Say “No”  Refusal Skills- are different ways of saying no to things that you don’t want to do. Plan Ahead Have a support system  Support System- is made up of family members and friends who will stand by you and will encourage you when times get hard.
