The direct object consists of nouns and pronouns. They are found after a verb that has someone or something that receives the action. Ways to identify… Subject+ Verb+ Who or What? = Direct Object

Mike and Sarah ate a pizza for breakfast. John gave a necklace. Ally went to the park.

The indirect object consists of nouns and pronouns. How do we know which one is which? These nouns and pronouns identify to whom or for whom the action of the verb is connected to. Also they can be identified as who is receiving the direct object There must be a direct object to have an indirect object. They can be before or after the direct object Need to ask self- Who is receiving the direct object? What is receiving the direct object?

Exit Ticket- If you want to leave you must complete the ticket. Create two sentences for each with labels for the parts of a sentence. Direct Object- 2 sentences that have a Subject, Verb, and Direct Object at least. No Indirect Objects. Indirect Object- 2 sentences that have a Subject, Verb, Direct Object, and Indirect Object. Homework- Finish worksheet by tomorrow.
