6 Entrepreneurial output  The rate of creation of new businesses in Canada is regularly higher than the rate of business closures.  A bit more than half of Canadian businesses survive their first five years of activity.  The survival rate of Canadian businesses is better than that in other countries.

7 Entrepreneurial output  The rate of entrepreneurship has been stagnant or dropping in the country since 2005.  To evaluate the number of new entrepreneurs in the country, we counted Canadians who became independent workers and who also hired employees. These people made up 0.3% of the active population in 2005 compared to 0.23% in 2011.  What’s the situation within the Canadian Francophonie?
