Airport Timeline 8:00 a.m. American Airline Flight 11 leaves Logan Airport in Boston bound for L.A. with 81 passengers and crewmembers 8:14a.m. United Flight 175 to L.A. departs Boston with 56 passengers and crew members 8:21 a.m. American Flight 77 to L.A. departs Washington Dulles International Airport with 58 passengers and six crew on board. 8:35 a.m. FAA alerts NORAD that American Flight 11 has been hijacked after takeoff.

Timeline continued 8:42 a.m. United Airlines Flight 93 leaves Newark for San Francisco with 38 passengers and seven crew. 8:43 FAA notifies NORAD that United 175 from Boston has also been hijacked.

8:47: American Flight 11, bearing 20,000 gallons of jet fuels crashes into Tower Number 1 of WTC, killing 92 on board ravaging floors 90 through 100.

10:28 the north tower of WTC collapses into itself in a fury of smoke and mayhem. Hundred of firefighters are trapped and killed.
