Do Now Take out all 10 vocabulary index cards and open up to your vocabulary section Review your words List 1: argument, tone, integrate, draw, connotation List 2: figurative, cite, explicit, foreshadowing, structure

Scary Vocabulary Skit Write a short scary skit that you and your groupmates will perform in front of the class You may write an exact script and read directly from it, or just write a story/summary and then improvise during the performance Your skit should include at least 4 words from the new list and at least 2 words from the old list. The words must make sense in context.

Other Details Stories should contain some elements of horror: a spooky setting, spooky characters, a mystery, or other patterns we’ve been reading/discussing The skit should be 2-3 minutes when acted out All group members must participate in the planning AND performance You should be loud enough to hear, clear enough to understand, and demonstrate effort and enthusiasm

Other Details (continued) Hand in one copy of the script/story with all group members’ names and with the 6 vocabulary words underlined At least 2 words from our first list Argument, tone, integrate, draw, connotation At least 4 words from our second list Figurative, cite, explicit, foreshadowing, structure
