When Mr. Burnthorn retires in 2008, 10 years from now, he is planning on moving to a new town and building a grocery store. Based on the increase in population shown in the graphs above, where should Mr. Burnthorn build his grocery store in 2008, Town X or Town Y? Justify your answer.

8.5 B Stacy is selling candy bars to raise money for her softball team. The fourth day Stacy sold 28 candy bars. The fifth day she sold 34 candy bars. Yesterday, on the sixth day, Stacy sold 40 candy bars. Use an algebraic expression to determine how many candy bars Stacy will sell on the 15 th day. Justify your answer.

Mykala is using the pattern blocks to model a design for a tile floor in her house. Figure 14 is the design structure she has chosen. If hexagonal tiles come 12 per box, how many boxes of tiles does she need to purchase in order to have enough tiles? Justify your answer.
