PPD Health & Safety Sorry, Rob’s not available today. – I’m at NEBOSH training which is required for the safety contact role Just a couple of things to discuss this time: – Safety audits – Near misses and incident reporting Hopefully I’ll be able to do this properly next month!

Safety Audits SHE management system audit, 6 th -9 th Feb – Nothing to worry about: it is the system that is being audited, not you, though there is a small chance you will be asked questions about the systems. PPD compliance audit, Feb (dates TBC) – Please read up on relevant safety codes. – I was mistaken about the lack of a “crib sheet” last time (sorry). There is something approximating this on the SHE group website, linked as a “short summary document” from the “Codes” page.

Near Misses and Reporting Reporting near misses is as important as ever. It’s a major tool to help identify risks. As some of you have discovered, the system does not work well (or in some cases, at all) using a browser other than Internet Explorer on Windows. – Apparently browser support will improve in the next version of SHE Enterprise. – You can use a terminal server session to access IE from Mac or Linux if you need to (as IT Helpdesk for advice if you need it). –...or get a colleague to enter your report.
