61. Fulfillments of Ezekiel 38-39 The Maccabean Revolt The Maccabean Revolt In 168 B.C. the Jews were invaded by Seleucid forces and were ultimately victorious. The Roman Conquest of Jerusalem In 66 A.D. the Jews rebelled against Rome and the response was a Roman invasion of Israel and the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple. Futurist View Symbolic View Sees the prophecy as using the image of a past invasion to describe God’s eventual victory over evil.
