Sony Play station 1 TThe first new version was actually a revision in early 1996. IIt was made in response to complaints that PlayStations were overheating. Sony Play Station 2 RReleased in 2000 TThe PlayStation 2 was very popular and is often sold out in retail stores. IIn September 2004, Sony unveiled its third major hardware revision it is smaller, thinner, and quieter than the older versions. Nintendo Wii RReleased in 2006 TThe console was known by the codename of "Revolution" until April 27, 2006, when it was renamed Wii. TThe Wii Remote is the primary controller for the console. It uses a combination of built-in accelerometers and infrared detection to sense its position in 3D space when pointed at the LEDs within the Sensor Bar.

Ever since the PlayStation 3 arrived on the market to challenge the Xbox 360 in 2006, gamers have argued about which system is best. The processors for the Xbox and PS3 are unique. It can be difficult to make direct comparisons.
