Music of Mongolia Origins of folk music in Mongolia often attributed to nomadic life. Long Song: Specific cries for each type of animal — “toig, toig” (sheep), “chaig, chaig” (goats), “ohb, ohb” (cattle), and “hohs, hohs” (camels) — evolved into specific melodies and rhythms.
