In the new architecture of the NHS, where new statutory bodies are responsible for large budgets, financial control may be lost, resulting in poor outcomes for patients. The Primary Problem:

Root Cause Analysis Research over the years has indicated that start-up companies carry more risk when it comes to financial failure (Johnson, Scholes et al, 2008). Can Be caused by: Untested leadership Ill defined Strategies Lack of Strategic capabilities etc

The Objective By April 2013: Give my organisation assurance that there are Credible CCG financial plans that deliver a 1% surplus

Possible Strategies Identify Key metrics Template and summarised key financial activity Recognise key competencies ‘ gut feel’ approach Create historic record of past achievement Scored using SWOT analysis and key metrics came out ahead –SMART –Good for comparison –Defensible
