PERSONAL CAREER: POLICE OFFICER My personal career is to become a police officer because the television show COPS is so interesting. Police officers prevent people from doing crimes and protect the public. They work any day of the week and any time of the day. You need a Criminal Justice degree to become a police officer. Their salary is $43,104 and increased to $55,728 after one year. You have to be at least a high school graduate, must pass a written test, go through training, and have some work experience. You also have to brave, strong, responsible, and hardworking to be a police officer. You need to know how to use a gun, handcuffs, and remember the Miranda rights.
