What is an integer? The set of positive whole numbers their opposites, and zero. Integers to the left of zero, are less than zero and are negative. Integers to the right of zero, are greater than zero and are positive. Examples??? -21, -3, 0, 5, 36, 156

Finding an Opposite Two numbers that are the same distance from 0 on a number line, but in opposite directions are opposites. Example: Find the opposite of -5. Answer: 5

Finding an Absolute Value
The absolute value of a number is its distance from 0 on a number line. *notation: the absolute value of -2 is written as |-2| Example: Find |-4| and |4|. Answer: 4

Comparing Integers Example: Compare 4 and -5 using >,<, or =.
