2. LANGUAGE Pray that people arriving can find English classes that are suitable and supportive. Pray for the many city ESOL classes, their teachers, volunteers and organisations. Pray that with huge demand that these places are fully resourced and supported. English classes create a sense of community – give thanks.

3. HOUSING Pray as asylum seekers arrive in Glasgow they are housed in suitable accommodation that is safe and secure. Pray for real peace and a ‘sense of home’ around these places in the city. Pray for those responsible for this that they would be wise, fair and loving to those in their care.

4. PRACTICAL NEEDS Pray that people would be signposted appropriately so everyone who arrives and is living in Glasgow would be treated with dignity to be equipped everyday with what they need: food, shelter, community and English classes.

5. ORGANISATIONS There are many organisations in Glasgow who have been working with asylum seekers & refugees for years. Pray for good connections & partnerships. Pray for provision of volunteers, finances and resources. Pray for energy and wisdom to deal with increasing numbers.

6. COMMUNITY Pray for the many individuals who cross our doors everyday. Every person has a story and is looking for a new hope and community. Pray that genuine and transforming communities would be established across the city, that every individual would be welcomed to Glasgow and find their place.

7. NEXT STEPS Pray for those who have received refugee status that they would be supported to find a job, housing support and to build a life. Pray for families to be reunited where possible. Remember those who have not had a positive outcome where the realities of either returning home, or facing a life of destitution, are the only options.
