2 The Biggest “Show & Tell” of Your Life What is it? A “reflection” of your life – up to this point Who are you? How did you get here? Where will you go next?

3 The Pieces Preparation – 150 pts. Roadmap – 25 Outline – 50 Storyboard – 50 Production Update – 25 The Project itself & the presentation of it – 300 pts. Basically, if you don’t do this, you won’t pass Quarter 4!

4 The Nitty-Gritty Length – 5-10 min. Less than 5 = 0 points More than 10 = 0 points Goal? 6-8 min. Due Date – April 29 ALL projects must be turned in Presentations – May 3-18 Random order of presentation

5 How To Earn a Zero Failure to turn in on April 29 Due this date regardless of absence Unexcused absence on April 29 ANYTHING that is not school appropriate, including inappropriate music Copy or plagiarize any portion from any source without proper citation Too short or too long

6 Creating Your Project Possible sources of information Photos Video clips Mementos and memorabilia Interviews with family/friends Include: Text as appropriate Images/graphics as appropriate Photos & at least one video clip Background music Audio -- Voice over dialogue Appropriate & consistent background Title page w/ your name and 2011 Credits page (copyright information)

7 Topics You Might Include Influential events in your life Memorable experiences Positive OR negative Important people Meaningful community service

8 Optional Ideas Create a theme or metaphor Improves cohesiveness Engages the audience Personal performances (include in video) Read an original poem Share your artwork Display props that are important to your life Demonstrate a skill Martial arts Dance Music

11 “She’s always been there for me” This phrase is BANNED Use of this phrase will adversely affect your grade Use specific descriptions and examples to describe this person’s involvement in your life Otherwise, leave it out!

12 Presenting Your Project Appearance Professional and appropriate dress is required Personal Introduction Personally introduce your project to us Share a meaningful and/or inspirational quote / poem / philosphy and WHY it has meaning to you This is NOT a part of your video
