WHAT HAPPENS IF IT IS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY? 1. You can do some troubleshooting Reboot - Turn the Computer Off ( Swipe from right edge of screen > Settings > Power > Shut Down) and then turn back on 2. Report to your teacher If you have issues at home, write down any error messages or what you were trying to do that would not work The school Technology Specialist will handle repairs

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT IS LOST OR DAMAGED? Report to your teacher immediately. If a device is damaged and is not covered under warranty, fees must be paid before the device can be sent for repair or replacement. If there are repeated incidents of damage in a single school year due to negligence, the repair fee increases.

UNACCEPTABLE CONDUCT INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: Damage to the computer due to negligence Opening the computer to access internal parts; Deleting any software installed on the computer Using the computer to bully another individual Downloading any copyrighted materials – music, video, games, pictures, etc. Violation of the Acceptable Use Policy

Shut Down Laptop Properly Do NOT turn off with Power button!!

Shut Down Laptop Properly Use Settings > Power > Shut Down OR Ctrl/Alt/Delete > Power Button > Shut Down

HOW YOU RECEIVE UPDATES Updates happen automatically for your laptop as you shut down or reboot. It is important that you do this every day! Updates are available for your operating system, software, and hardware Important to power on laptop at the beginning of the day to get your updates – reboot for updates sometime during the day.

CHS is moving away from printing documents. Many of your assignments will be turned in electronically. If you do need to print, Paper Cut is the printing system at CHS. Printing – Paper Cut

Open Word Click File Click Print Choose CHS HP FindMe

If you have sent a document to Print, you have to release that document to a printer: In Metro (Start) View of Windows 8, type PaperCut User in Search Then, click PaperCut User Printing - Paper Cut

Log in the same way you log in to the network -- (same username and same password)

Window opens with Jobs Pending Release. Click Print to the right of the document name. Printing - Paper Cut

A list of printers by room number is listed. Choose the correct printer by the room number. Printing - Paper Cut

PRINTING – Caution!! There is a record of everything you print. This includes how much and what you have printed. You can be charged and/or have discipline issues if printing is used inappropriately. Make wise decisions on what you choose to print.
