What is culture? Culture is the total accumulation of beliefs, customs, values, behaviors, institutions and communication patterns that are shared, learned and passed down through the generations in an identifiable group of people.

3. Culture has many shapes: Ancient, Medieval, Modern, etc

4. Culture has many evolving features: Some more coherent and some not

Cultures are always changing Changes in behaviors and customs Changes in basic patterns and values

Beginning to do culture seeing your culture the way others who are not a part of it see it looking at your culture in comparison with other cultures

The goal is to learn to approach your own culture more analytically and to encourage us to be cautious when interpreting another culture.
