2. 1. Objectives & Description. Objectives: Collect meta data and historical data for temperature and salinity measurements. Description: Meta data and historical data of temperature and salinity observational networks in 5 European regional seas will be collected for a given 3 year period by the 5 regional partners. 2. Formats. First activity was design a common format for the metadata set of the five regional partners covering all the necessary information. Following formats as the SEADATANET and others used in the different regions a common format, which included repeated and non repeated stations, was established as follows: Format: Latitude, longitude, observation_date, frequency, repeated (1/0), depth, temperature(1/0), salinity(1/0), type (ctd, VOS, XBT, moored_buoy, ARGO float, glider, ), uselimite (LI, NLI), ref_1 (data reference), ref_2 (file reference), provider_mail.
